Easter message: Presidency Discloses why Bishop Kukah did not Speak Like a Man of God

The Nigerian presidency has faulted Bishop Matthew Kukah’s latest criticism of the Muhammadu Buhari administration.

The Catholic Bishop of Sokoto, had in his 2021 Easter message said insecurity had escalated under President Muhammadu Buhari’s watch.

But a presidential spokesperson, Garba Shehu, said Kukah did not speak like a man of God by saying the insecurity in the country has deteriorated when compared to 2014.

Shehu said Father Mathew Hassan Kukah’s Easter message deviated from facts by aligning to ideology.

He said: “But, in saying that the Boko Haram terrorism is worse than it was in 2015, he did not speak like a man of God.

Kukah should go to Borno or Adamawa to ask the citizens there the difference between 2014 and 2021.''

VAM News gathered that Shehu accused the bishop of dragging the president into the Hijab issue in Kwara state for political reasons.

He said the hijab issue in Kwara state is a state matter which the courts of the land have adjudicated.

The presidential aide also stated that faulted the claims by the cleric that the current administration does not care for displaced persons.

He pleaded with Nigerians to support efforts by the administration to secure the country and move it forward.
