Disappointing night for Arsenal as Tomas Holes' late goal denied them Europa League victory over Slavia Praha

Tomas Holes' 90+4 minute header was all Slavia Prague needed to deny Arsenal a victory in the first leg of their Europa League clash at the Emirates Stadium.

The 28-year-old defender powered home an unstoppable header in the late minutes of the added time to ensure his side avoided defeat.

His goal puts the Czech football outfit at an advantage ahead of the second on Thursday, April 15 as they both battle for one semifinal spot.

Nicolas Pepe broke the deadlock for the Gunners in the 86th minute after several attempts from both sides had proven unfruitful.

The Ivorian ran into space to connect with a superb pass Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang before chipping the ball over the visitors' goalkeeper.

Coming towards the end of the game, many would have thought Pepe's goal was going to stand till the final whistle but the North Londoners found a way to allow a goal into their net.

Mikel Arteta's men will however need to step up their performance in the second leg if they are serious about moving into the last-four stage.

With Arsenal currently sitting 10th on the Premier League table, winning the Europa League this season might be the only opportunity they have to play in Europe next campaign.

The Gunners scored from just two shots on target all through the game and this means that the Spaniard must work on his attackers before their next meeting.

Meanwhile, the goal scorer for the hosts came in for Bukayo Saka in the 77th minute before finding the back of the net four minutes before the final whistle.

Meanwhile, Nigeria's Peter Olayinka who recently marries his long-time spouse played for 85 minutes before he was replaced with Ibrahim Traore.
