8 Dead, 6 Injured In Fresh Attack As 100 Northerners Flee Southeast State

 A fresh attack by some unknown gunmen which left eight dead and six injured has forced northern residents in Imo state to flee from the area to the north.

 Residents are returning to their state of origin due to the incessant attacks on police stations by gunmen and a correctional centre where over 1800 inmates were released as well as the killings of innocent people. 

Daily Trust citing BBC Hausa as its source reports that the northerners are now living in fear in some parts of the state.  

Owerri, Imo state 

Alhaji Iliyasu Sulaiman, a northern businessman in the state stated that his younger brother was shot dead while three others were injured in Orlu town. 

Sulaiman went on to note that eight people were buried while six others are presently receiving treatment in the hospital. 

He said the incessant killings had forced over 100 people to return to their states of origins within the last two weeks.

According to him, 60 people went back to Sokoto, more than 20 to Kano and Katsina have gone and some are preparing to go.
