NANS Candidate, Asefon Sunday Calls For Peaceful 2020 Convention In Abuja

The leading presidential candidate of the National Association Of Nigerian Students (NANS), Sunday Asefon, has called on all stakeholders, CPC, members of the association, all Security operatives to put their best in ensuring peaceful conduct of 2020 convention in Abuja.

Asefon made the call while speaking with Nigerian students at the Old parade ground, Abuja on thursday evening, saying that the tension in the venue during the accreditation of SUG Presidents(senators) is worrisome.

He said the convention had just started getting relative peace from the disruption as everywhere is now calm and peaceful.

He, however, appealed to all candidates at various positions to remain calm and be peaceful in their dealings, and ensure that their supporters were not involved in any form of further disruption or thuggery.

He said convention should not be a do or die affair as the peace and security of the Nigerian students remained the top priority of team Asefon Sunday.

He said if elected as the President of the association he would prioritize safety and quality education of Nigerian students as they are the most basic human needs.

He said people need to be healthy and well educated to stand the chances of developing all the sectors of the economy in the country.

He also implored all his supporters and senior cadres to continue to be law abiding citizens to promote peaceful coexistence in Abuja, the convention ground and the country.
