Ondo Council Polls: APC Wins Big As Prince Kayode Aroloye Emerges Idanre's Chairman-Elect

Ondo: The Candidate of the All Progressives Congress party(APC), Prince Kayode Aroloye has been emerged as the winner of the just concluded Local government election in Idanre local government area of the state after polling a total of 28, 200 votes.


Aroloye in a big margin polled a total of 28,200 votes to defeat his closest rival, Bankole Akinselure of the Social Democratic Party(SDP) who polled 789 votes.










Our correspondent gathered that the voters maintained and followed the PTF COVID-19 procedure and guidelines to curb the spread of the virus.











The Chief Returning Officer for Idanre LGA, Dr. Aronmolase while announcing the result said, Aroloye Kayode having scored the highest number of valid votes, is hereby declared winner and returned elected.


Recall that two major political parties, the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) and Zenith Labour Party did not participate in yesterday’s election and the candidate of the Social Democratic party(SDP) in Idanre local government area on Thursday, announced his withdrawal from the race on newspapers and social media.

The state ODIEC Chairman, Prof Yomi Dinakin during an interview with newsmen said that ten political parties took part in the election.


Over 5000 security personnel were deployed across the state for the election.










Speaking with newsmen, the chairmanship candidate of APC, Prince Kayode Aroloye expressed satisfaction with the peaceful conduct of the election.



The election in Idanre was peaceful and the turn out massive, Aroloye said.
