National Association of Nigerian students presidential hopeful, Comrade Sunday Asefon on Friday announced safety measures for Nigerian students both at home and diaspora.

While addressing journalists in Ado-Ekiti, the capital city of Ekiti state, the leading compatriot of the Symbol of New NANS opined that Coronavirus requires individual action, such as; Improved personal hygiene, wash your hands often with soap, avoid close contact with people who are sick, cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough/sneeze or use the inside of your curve elbow, clean and disinfect surfaces, avoiding unnecessarily large gatherings, watching out for any symptoms and reading about COVID19.

Recall that Coronavirus was first recorded in Nigeria on February 27 when an Italian businessman, who was on a visit to Lafarge Africa Plc, Ewekoro, Ogun State, was diagnosed with the disease and taken to Lagos State, where he is currently being treated.

Meanwhile, "As at 18th March 2020, the total number of cases as announced by the Honorable Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire, stands at eight (with one of the five (5)" recent cases confirmed on Wednesday, in Ekiti State.

"Though we have not recorded any death case of the deadly virus in Nigeria, but 'Self precaution is how you protect yourself and others, shun fear, flee panic and STAY SAFE'. Asefon said.
